Jennifer Garner was born on April 17, 1972, from Houston, Texas but was born to be raised in Charleston, West Virginia. William John Garner is her father. He was a chemical engineers for Union Carbide. Patricia Ann Garner taught in a college near her. She received her degree in chemical engineering to emulate her father. To fulfill her desire to be an actress, she relocated to New York. While she was appearing in Broadway plays, she also served as a server in a nearby restaurant. Garner was a guest star in the show "Felicity." (It is on this show when she met her first husband Scott Foley.) Garner made her mark with"the romantic comedy "13 going on thirty" in which she played a teenager trapped in an adult's body. Garner picked Gary Winick, who directed the film. Both Winick and Garner continued to work together in pursuing other projects even after the death of Winick. Garner was made an ambassador for artists in 2011 by Save the Children U.S.A. The role includes promotion of national literacy and nutrition, as well as early education and various other aspects. From 2014 onwards, Garner has been a part of the board of trustees for this group, promoting early childhood education. She visits many families in Early Steps to School Success - a program designed to help parents understand how to help their child's learning - as an ambassador.
