Richard B. Cheney, a distinguished public servant and a businessman is vice president. Cheney known as a popular figure in Washington politics, worked with four presidents from the United States. George W. Bush is the fourth. Bush has appointed Cheney his vice-presidential runningmate in 2000, owing to the shrewdness and wisdom of Cheney. Dick Cheney is a former chief of the staff of presidents, served in Congress as well as Secretary of Defense. Both Republicans and Democrats respect him for his integrity. Cheney declares that he's an honest and discreet advisor for Bush within his administration. Cheney is adamant in accepting his role as Republican vice president he wants to work with a presidential candidate who can work cross-partisan and to collaborate with political rivals with respect and in a common goal. Richard Bruce Cheney was born in Lincoln Nebraska on January 30 1941, the son of Richard Herbert Cheney and the former Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. The family was moved from Casper, Wyoming with his family when he was 13. He was raised by his father who worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture was the director of the conservation district of Casper.
